Organizational and Personnel Changes

Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the following organizational and personnel changes, effective October 1, 2009.

1. Organizational Changes
Changes in the area of powertrain development

Goals

-	To build the Mazda organization as it moves forward in accomplishing the Monotsukuri Innovation concept and mass production of next-generation powertrains.
-	To effectively advance development of powertrain control systems that are becoming increasingly sophisticated.
-	To unify administrative and management functions in order to increase efficiency and expand development resources.

Details of the organizational changes

-	The Powertrain Technology Development Dept., Engine Engineering Dept., Drivetrain Development Dept. and Powertrain System Development Dept. have been reorganized. The Engine Performance Development Dept. and the Driveability & Environmental Performance Development Dept. have been newly established.
-	The Powertrain Innovation Dept. and some functions of the Powertrain Development Promotion Dept. have been integrated into the Powertrain Planning Dept.
-	In line with the above changes, the Powertrain Innovation Dept., Powertrain Development Promotion Dept. and the Engine Testing and Research Dept. have been abolished.
